Our Society – PTPP ‘pro Natura’ has been active in the protection of bats for years. Mainly protection of summer and winter locations of these mammals and actions tending to change of bat’s image in society. The intervention on Monday (December, 1st) was unusual.

There is a renovation of another church, which attic is the hide for bats. In monumental St. Nicholas’ church in Tylmanowa (Ochotnica Dolna, małopolska province) the colony of lesser horseshoe bats have been staying for many years.

When bats are busy eating the mosquitoes around their Summer roosts, it’s the best time to work in their Winter quarters.
June is the time of summer bat census. Once a year we check the number of horseshoe bats, greater mouse-eared bats Myotis myotis and Geoffroy’s bats Myotis emarginatus in their summer roosts.

Polish Friends to Nature Society “Pro Natura”, organizer of a competition for A PROJECT OF A GRAPHICAL LOGO „ LAND OF A HORSESHOE BAT”, informs that there were 35 works that entered the competition from 21 authors across Poland by 5th of June, 2014. The author of the winning work is Krzysztof Grudziński from Wrocław.

The aim of the office meeting was to meet the team that carry out the project, get to know the stage of progress of particular issues, get acquainted with the marketing regulations and the documentation to the project.
