Public Library and School/kindergarden Complex in Czernica organised the Bat Night, an educational event for the 5th grade pupils. The coordinator of the LIFE Podkowiec+ project, Rafał Szkudlarek, was the special guest at the event.

Within Ciężkowice-Rożnów Landscape Park in the town of Ciężkowice there lies a nature reserve Skamieniałe Miasto (the name meaning the town that was turned into stone). The reserve has an information stand, where the visitors may learn about the Lesser horseshoe bat and the Land of the Horseshoe Bat.

Last Summer day (22 September 2015). The very centre of Wroclaw – Plac Solny. A lady walking along the flower stands noticed a bat moving on the granite kerb. To seek help for the animal, the lady calls the City Guard and the Crisis Management Centre.

At the end of July, a strong delegation from UK and Ireland, representing Vincent Wildlife Trust got acquainted with the Podkowiec+ (Horseshoe+) project. The VWT pioneering in the horseshoe conservation, over many years had been developing the ways how to secure the sites and improve the microhabitats in the colonies.

Trees and hedgerows play extremely important role in the life of the Lesser horsehoe bats. Bats of this species catch their insect prey flying skilfully among the tree crowns, doing well even in quite dense forest.
