The All Saints Church in Łososina Górna is a wooden 18th century historic monument. The attic is inhabited by several dozen lesser horseshoe bats. Lone Geoffroy’s bats occur here as well.

Small windows in the church tower, have until now been closed against the bird access with the mesh, having small openings cut for the bats to fly-in. Drawbacks of such solution include the transparency for light and possibility that bats get hurt dabbing against edges of the mesh when flying in. That’s why the windows got new, professional protection. Special sloping, upwards opened baffles, painted black, have been put in place. This makes the access for both birds and light more difficult. And substantially reduces amount of rain and snowfall into the building. The windows also look better from outside, with dark inside appearance.

Several other improvements in the attic included plastic foil cover to ease up collecting of guano, thermal/light baffles and the trap door to prevent access of four-leg raptors into some parts of the attic. This sort of appliance the team calls marten-stopper.
