Despite very bad weather conditions, the renovation of lime kiln (Wapiennik) Łaskawy Kamień in Stara Morawa keeps running. It is one of very few Lesser horseshoe bat roosts West from the Morawa Gate (separating Sudety Mts and Carpathians).
The building hosts also Greater Mouse-eared bats. Both species are neighbours, and inhabit parts of the building that are best for their well being. The works were planned so, that it would not disturb the bats and the functioning of the museum, also located in the building.
The work will replace the roof cover and thus safeguard the Lesser horseshoe bat colony from the harsh weather.
