With coming of May, starts the active period in the Lesser horseshoe bats life. All the breeding colonies are inhabited by the females. Only in a few, the bats wait in a satellite roost nearby, ready to move in. They are active already, too.
Also, the mascot bats move around the Horseshoe bat Land, and participate in many local events. Their May wandering started with the visit to Gorce Mts National Park. They visited the May Festival on Mt. Bukowiec and took part in the popular Bat Hiking Race. They assisted the Podkowiec+ staff member, Piotr, who spread the message amongst public and local media.
The mascot bats participated in the Reconstruction of the Gorlice battle of 2 May, taking part in Sękowa. The project stand attracted visitors to solve the tasks and riddles on The Lesser horseshoe and other bats.
They were present during the hiker rally called Dusiołek Górski (non-transferrable name that may be explained as Mountain Choker). See also.
In May, one of the horseshoes spent some time in Spain and took the opportunity to exchange some information with a Spanish bat project.
