The St Nicklaus church in Tylmanowa was the second object with its roof renovated within the LIFE Podkowiec+ project. The breeding colony of the lesser horseshoe bats can feel safe under the new roofing for another several dozen years.

At the same time, an appropriate platform for guano prevents the building from the detrimental effect of excrements accumulating with time, and ease up removal of bat droppings. The restoration was implemented according to the requirements of the Provincial Historic Monument Preservation Office (Wojewódzki Urząd Ochrony Zabytków). It was done in Winter, when the bats hibernate in nearby caves and finished at the turn of the year. The support from the National Fund for Environment (NFOŚiGW) and the EU (financial instrument LIFE) was made possible as the church is located in the already established NATURA 2000 area, and the works considered the needs of the bats inhabiting the object.
