As a part of the LIFE Podkowiec+ project, a second (unfortunately the last) study tour „presence of horseshoe bat as a leverage for the socio-economic benefits for local communities” took place in early September. It was meant for the representatives of institutions and individual persons, whose activity is related to the conservation of lesser horseshoe and other bat species.

Our hosts were Wolfgang Sauerbier, Michael Franz and Martin Biedermann representing several institutions and organisations related to the bat research and conservation. On the arrival, there were presentations of hosts and guests, about their experience in bat conservation.

Stay in Northern Thuringia was full of attractions. Report from this part of the tour is divided here in a few separate parts:
