Results of the June competition
In June, we asked about the frequency of an adult Lesser horseshoe bat echolocation call. All of the answers, were right, second such case in our monthly competitions.
The correct and full answer is more complicated than it may seem, though the answers that indicated 110kHz were approved. The bats change their call's frequency all the time, and there are some differences between sexes, individuals, and depending on age. The male's voices being lower, and female high, while the youngsters call somewhere between the two. Later, voices of males go down, while the females get higher.
The winners selected randomly among correct answers were: Andrzej Błoch and Małgorzata Bochyńska. Congratulations!
Project gadgets, including t-shirts, reflective badges and sweets will be sent by post, after contacting the winners for their postal address.
