At the end of July, a strong delegation from UK and Ireland, representing Vincent Wildlife Trust got acquainted with the Podkowiec+ (Horseshoe+) project. The VWT pioneering in the horseshoe conservation, over many years had been developing the ways how to secure the sites and improve the microhabitats in the colonies.

Henry Schofield, Colin Morris and Ruth Hanniffy ranked the Podkowiec+ project very high, and readily discussed the visited cases with our team. After returning home they send us warm thanks, and Henry Schofield wrote that PODKOWIEC+ is a flagship project for horseshoe bats in Europe. At least in the part of Europe where the horseshoe bats gather in the buildings.
Henry stressed the climatic differences between the British Isles and Middle Europe. He proposed that the two organisations should initiate a common program for the conservation of horseshoe bats and invite other organisations working or willing to work in this field.
